A Trail of Two Cities by Alexa A.

Last weekend I ran the Trail of Two Cities run from Ocean City to Somers Point. It was a 5K race. By the way, a 5K is 3.1 miles. It was tough to get up at 5am and tough to run over those really big bridges. I was so happy when I got to the bottom of the second bridge, turned the corner and saw the finish line up ahead. Then I started sprinting!! I passed 2 kids(my age) and three adults! When they announced the winners in the under 9 age group, I was so excited to hear my name called for first place! I got a really cool medal, and can’t wait to do it again next year!  This is a picture of me with Mr. Rogers, the retired Attales cross country coach. He won a first place medal too, and he yelled, “Go Absecon!” when I won mine. I will never forget that day!
