Happy Birthday, Mr. President!

We learned so much about George Washington and his famous home, Mount Vernon!
Here are two patriotic posts by Ethan N. and Haram S.

George Washington
Mount Vernon Virtual Mansion Tour
  By Ethan N.

Have you ever wanted to visit Mount Vernon, where George Washington lived? On the Mount Vernon Virtual Mansion Tour you can. You can see the first, second, and third floor of where Washington lived with his wife, Martha. You can visit the dining room where George ate his meals; see the room he slept in and many other places in the Washington mansion. And you don’t have to get up to leave and waste a lot of time to book your trip. Also there are caption-like boxes to read special things about the room. I hope you enjoyed your visit Mrs. Stanton’s class blog to learn more about George Washington and his house.
A Strong Leader
by Haram S.
George Washington is the first President that comes to mind.  Do you know why?  Not because he was President.  He in age 17 was an important person.  He was a surveyor.  Surveyors are people who make maps.  Back then, people needed maps to explore our new world.  George was really working hard, and he began working for Governor Dinwiddie.  His governor gave him a task that was to tell the French to get out of the land that belonged to England.  They said, "No!"  That started a war, and George fought for us too.  Then we fought the War for Independence.  Then people said he should be President.  Well, he did.  He had only two terms.  He married a woman named Martha Custis.  He died after 45 years with his wife.  But don't remember George Washington for his death.  Remember him for his braveness and respect.
