As a part of Red Ribbon Week, the school is holding a door decorating contest, which the Stantons were all too happy to participate in! The theme is Drug Resistance, with a special focus on sending a strong message to kids about staying drug free. We put a spooky Halloween spin on the project... isn't it BOOOOOOO-tiful??
Judging will be soon, and the Stantons are waiting with anticipation to see if our door is a winner...

Parent: What did you learn in school today? Child: Not enough, I have to go back tomorrow!

Scholastic Book Fair starts Monday :)
We will visit the Book Fair as a class Monday October 15th. Your child will browse the books and be given
an opportunity to write a wish list.
Please check this list over and send payment on Thursday October 18th
for the books you decide to purchase.
Another option is to send in a pre-set amount of money and let your
child choose the books on Thursday. Use a sealed envelope with name and classroom
teacher on it.
Our Classroom Wish List is available to anyone who wishes to purchase
books to be donated to the Stanton classroom library. This is a super way to help contribute to
your child’s class, and we certainly all appreciate new books! Many of the books on our Class Wish List are
a part of the Accelerated Reader program, FIT and RAH. New books are certain to be well-used and
loved.

Big news!!!
Students now have the option of typing their spelling sentences on Wednesday nights. Our usual sentence guidelines would still apply... 7 or more words, variety of starters, great word choice, etc.
Please be sure to use a font size big enough for Ms. Stanton's old eyes. List words should be underlined. highlighted or in a different color. Any questions, just let me know. Have fun!
